When the past won’t stay in the past

You’ve done the work of understanding what happened to you. You can explain it, put it in context, maybe even talk about it calmly. And yet it still shows up — in the tension you carry, the reactions that feel bigger than the moment deserves, the patterns you keep finding yourself in without quite knowing why.

If that’s you, you’re not broken, and you’re not stuck with it. Often the mind holds onto an old experience as a way of protecting you — a response it learned for a reason. The trouble is that the response keeps running long after the danger has passed.

A learned pattern can be changed

The approach I use is built on NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) combined with adjunctive hypnosis. Talking about a painful experience engages the conscious, analytical mind — the part that already understands the story. This work is aimed a layer beneath that, at the subconscious level where the pattern actually lives and keeps replaying.

The goal isn’t to relive the past or to manage its effects forever. It’s to help your mind update an old, protective pattern that has outlived its usefulness — so the past can finally feel like the past.

A focused, 8-session model

I work in a structured, eight-session program. It’s finite and focused by design — not an open-ended commitment with no clear end in sight. Most people notice a real shift by around session four. Because the format is defined from the start, you always know where you stand.

Who this is for

I work with adults, teens, and college students in West Chester and throughout Chester County and the surrounding area who are ready to move past the lingering effects of a difficult experience and feel more like themselves again.

Working alongside your other care

This is educational coaching, not medical care or mental health treatment. For many people it works well alongside the care they already have. If you’re currently working with a doctor or a licensed mental-health professional, this can complement that support — it isn’t a replacement for it, and I’ll always be honest with you about what this work is and isn’t a fit for.

Start with a complimentary first session

Every new client begins with a complimentary first session, with no obligation. It’s a conversation — a chance to see how the work feels and whether it’s right for you before you decide anything. If it’s a fit, we’ll map out a clear path forward together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can coaching really help with past trauma?

Many people find that NLP and hypnosis coaching helps them move past the lingering effects of a difficult experience — the reactions, tension, and patterns that keep showing up. It works by addressing the learned response beneath the surface, rather than only talking about the events.

Is this the same as trauma therapy?

No. This is educational coaching, not therapy or medical treatment. It focuses on updating unhelpful learned patterns and can work alongside care from a doctor or licensed mental-health professional — not as a replacement for it.

How long does it take?

The program is a structured eight sessions. Most people notice a meaningful shift by around session four.

What if I’m not sure it is right for me?

That’s exactly what the complimentary first session is for. It’s a no-obligation conversation to see whether the approach fits, before you commit to anything.
